This is problably a crazy idea but could ZP use the myHD "DVD decoding" filters?

I think someone mentioned that the myHD has MPEG2 playback capabilities, but not DeCSS code (which would probably cost them extra to distribute).


Not entirely sure, but you'd need something to decrypt the DVD data for playback first.

Let us suppose the data was decrypted already and you had in your hard drive all the different files that compose a DVD, e.i. VOBs, INFs BUPs, etc. Could ZP provide the functionality of navigating menus and other "player" functions and leave the decoding to the myHD filters?

It may be possible as the filter used for navigation comes bundled with windows itself. It's just a matter of checking if the DVD Navigator filter hooks to the myHD decoder in graph edit.
