LG Electronics USA has partnered with the esports organization Evil Geniuses in what is described as a “multifaceted integrated marketing partnership.” At announcement time, the focus of the partnership is the naming of LG UltraGear as the “Official Gaming Monitor of Evil Geniuses.”
LG UltraGear monitors use IPS LCD technology that has a 1ms response time (a world’s first for IPS, says LG) with the wide viewing angles of IPS.
The 2020 LG UltraGear lineup support both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync for variable frame rates, elimination of screen tearing, and the lowest possible latency. High refresh rates are part of the package, LG’s 27″ UltraGear 27GN950 monitor can reach 144 Hz and is overclockable to 160 Hz. Gamers looking for larger monitors will appreciate that the 34″ 34GN850 and 38″ 38GN950 offer the same capabilities in terms of low latency and high refresh rate.
Evil Geniuses maintains practice and training facilities in Seattle and Los Angeles. LG UltraGear monitors will be installed throughout the facility
From LG’s press release: “Founded in 1999, Evil Geniuses (EG) has shaped the history of esports. EG is a leader in the worldwide competitive gaming community, maintaining elite globally and nationally ranked rosters across major game titles such as Dota 2, League of Legends and CS:GO as well as players competing at the highest level in various FGC games and Fortnite.”
In the near future you can expect announcements about specific events that will feature LG UltraGear monitors and the Evil Geniuses.
