Hello - I am starting the dsign of my home theater and am in need of projector advice please. The basic layout is 24' deep X 15' wide with 8' ceilings.
I want two rows of seating - 1st row 14' from viewer to screen, 2nd row about 21' viewer to screen (on a riser) I'm looking at a (max) screen size of 119" diagonal (56" X 104") Ambient light will be controlled with black-out shades / drapes
What I think I would like to do is to find a projector that allows a rear ceiling or shelf mount which means I need a throw of about 22' - 23' lens to screen. I've looked at the various calculators and looked thorugh several projector reviews. It would appear that there are some sub-$3k projectors that can do this. I think I prefer DLP but am not discounting LCD either.
My projector budget is $3000.00 (but always interested in saving of course)
Main viewing will be movies, but also broadcast television - mostly sports.
The reason for rear mounting is moslty concern about noise at front seating area, and also some difficulty I think I will have with wiring to mid-room .vs. rear of the room.
Any suggestsions greatly appreciated - I'm a bit overwhelmed with the choices!
