JVC HR-S5902U remote and programmable remotes

I am looking at this vCr, it suits what I want to do with it, primarily S-video because that is the input I have left open on my TV and it does read will and was reviewed favorably.

Of course it is pretty cheap, I suspect mainly because it has not remote. I looked at replacement remotes and they cost a lot more than the VCR.

I do have a Radio Shack 8 in one and it has been great, I have pretty much all my separates and this make my wife very happy.

There are 7 codes for JVC VCR's, what are my chances that one of them will work? JVC has so many models not sure how many are on this remote, maybe a lot of them cross over.

The chances are 100% if your remote has Video code 0067 or 0867 (20067 or 20867 on some remotes). Here are all the key magic codes for every command plus a few extra that weren't even on the original remote. These codes are in at least 126 other one-for-all/radio shack remotes ranging from $5-$20. Since I don't know your remote model, I can't tell you exactly, but if your's takes 3 digit EFCs (key magic or advanced codes), drop the leading zeros from the list below. The vcr has two codesets, a-code which matches 0067. And the b-code which is vcr 0008, not in many remotes. Both use the advanced codes given by mdavej.
