Advice needed to choose between Tannoy Mercury range and Jamo S608 HCS3

Hello guys,

So far the best speakers fitting my budget are the Jamo S608 HCS3 series set, containing:

S 608 floorstands

S 60 SUR

S 60 CEN

+

Jamo SUB 360

Today, the Tannoy Mercury series came to my attention:

Tannoy V4 (floorstands)

Tannoy Mercury VC (center)

Tannoy Mercury V1 (as satellite)

+

Sub ?

I cannot find any comparison between these brands regarding these kind of speakers.

I don't really know much about Tannoy. I know that Jamo is a lot of value for money but also somewhat dissapointing (bad in high tones, too much base).

Can anybody help me with some advice? I don't have access to these sets to listen to them (Belgium), I'd order them from the UK.

Thanks

If the Jamo's are disappointing why would you want them?

Not a good way to start a new system.

Good point, and that is exactly why I'm still looking for alternatives.

I decied on the Denon 2113 as my AV receiver and amp.

I'd like to keep the budget limited to 700-900EUR for the speakers (incl sub).

So far I have not found many that fit the budget..
