Anyone use the Ascend Duo v2 with Luna V2 Titan?

My wife is pushing me to up my budget again because she likes how much smaller these are than the other ascend speakers we were looking at. I like how they use higher end sound equipment. So possibly a win win. I could also pair the Lunas with the CMT 340 and save 300 but that’s larger and not as fancy.
I also plan to get the RSL 10E sub when it comes back in stock. So close to 2G all together. Definitely higher than the $800 I started with. Hopefully these are something I can enjoy for the next decade at least.

These would also fit my space restrictions well.
Any thoughts from experience? Since I can’t actually hear them.

I did get to listen to a set of Premier 100B today and enjoyed them. So I at least want it to sound that good.
Thanks again.

The Paradigm Premier series includes one of the smallest 3 way center speakers on the market:

I would probably take that over the Ascend Duo LCR as an HT center, if WAF is the overriding factor here.

The nice thing is, you can try out both the 100B and the 500C at home courtesy of Crutchfield's $12 flat rate return shipping policy for centers and bookshelves.

Cost will be in the same ballpark as the Ascend Luna + Duo combo, but you get larger more capable speakers if HT is your main focus---the Ascends with their RAAL tweeters will have an edge in finesse and resolution if music is the priority and/or you don't need high volumes when watching movies/TV, since their 4.5" woofers will limit their output and midbass extension in comparison. The latter can be compensated for with subwooferage, the former not so much.

The KEF Q6/Q3 combo I linked in a different thread would also be a better choice if HT is the main focus.

I am currently using a Luna Duo V2 (RAAL) as the center in my set up and have enjoyed it quite a bit! No issues getting loud for music and movies, but I’ve never tried to watch at reference.

I just purchased a used Horizon from another forum member, so I’ll be selling mine soon if you’d be interested! (It is matte black, which is a finish no longer offered by Ascend)

I think I really do have two focuses. I want to hear beautiful music (I love music but have never been able to enjoy it at a higher quality) and watch exciting movies. So I want whatever balances the two best. This will be in the main room, so I could get a lot of use out of it. I do think refer accuracy and calm. So I would probably not settle on anything bright.

The ascends would not have the Raal. That would raise the cost another $400. It would be the Titan Dome.

No worries, none of the speakers discussed so far would ever be accused of being "bright." :)

I would get the Sierra-1 v2 for L/R (music) and then the CMT-340SE2 for the center. It doesn't look great, and if thats an issue you could get a single BMR, but thats going to be pretty expensive. Just make sure that you adjust the tweeter.

I also plan to get the RSL 10E sub when it comes back in stock.
For "exciting movies", you would want more than a little 10-inch sub. At the very least a 12. HSU, RSL and Klipsch (on slickdeals) have some options.

Ascend actually told me not to pair the 340 with the Sierra 1-V2. Dave said the Luna mini was the only higher end speaker he's put with it. No idea why.

What's the space restriction that's pushing you towards the Duo V2?

Are you referring to the V1 from Amir's original review, or the V2 as well?
V1, the V2 is still low sensitivity, but at least FR and plots look good

i believe this was a review done prior to the V2 version of the speaker, so I think some of those issues have been addressed. (I think that review was actually part of what caused Dave at Ascend to purchase a Klippel in the first place, could be wrong though)
Not sure about the second part, but the first yes.
