Bedside projector options

Looking for a bedside/nightstand projector that can properly cast to ceiling an image over the bed, without crazy keystone and bad sharpness. I found the Epson 4010/5050/LS11000/LS12000 having almost 50% horizontal lens shift, so those might work. Are there other options? Preferably with high contrast.

We have been using an XGIMI Halo on the footboard side to cast to the bedroom ceiling for a while. It's nice to watch stuff on the bed, but there is too much traffic on the footboard side, the image is a bit far from the headboard (or keystoned), and the contrast is really bad.

Technically hanging a UST over the headboard also works but that unnerving sight is probably the last we would like to wake up to.

Why not wall mount the projector? Beside are you certain that you want a projector in bedroom. A strong light source by the bed may disturb sleeping pattern not to mention the fan noise in close proximity. Standard throw projectors typically do not have audio so what is your plan for audio.

A wall mounted projector has to be above the headboard right? We don't want to wake up fearing it might drop even though the stud is definitely up to the task in theory.

We have been doing the ceiling projection for months now. Low brightness mode, low noise, and low blue light mode close to bed time - never a problem sleeping.

Audio is easy - a pair of speakers on the nightstands.

There is no point to get an expensive projector since there are too may restrictions. You can try mounting a standard throw in a low profile flip down shoe cabinet on the footboard side of the bed. Once you determined the location just drill a few holes to fix the projector in place. Note a projector is 20 to 25lbs in weight so the cabinet needs to be sturdy enough.

With UST you should need to make sure that picture goes far enough from the wall or it will be discomfortable to watch. Picture may also be too big for viewing distance, how much distance between bed and ceiling. I think that Epson has most lens shift so it's best bet for a picture in comfortable position.

I think one of these would be your best bet; they're literally marketed as ceiling projectors: Ceiling Projectors
JMGO N1 Ultra is super flexible and would work for this use case just fine. Give it a look.

Interesting... Looks like there are many projectors marketed for this use. Many even put a slanted projection in the marketing material, like JMGO and Samsung.

Still - not sure if any of them works well this way. I just tried again to tilt my Halo by ~20 degrees + keystone to project from the footboard side to above the center of the bed, and there are noticeable blurriness and chromatic aberration on the top and bottom side. I can't see how those projectors can tackle this without optical lens shift.
