I Had once a problem, for me it was the serial converter, I dont know if you need to use it for your tv.

I have an samsung tv and you need the serial converter, after a while it stopped seeing mine colorchecker, i tried really everything new usb drivers, remove calman and instal fresh nothing helped, so ordered a new one through amazone and it worked again did try the old one, but no. only the new works.

I’ve reset laptop and reinstalled again. Still not working.

 

HCFR program finds the sensor just fine.

 

Try uninstalling the driver for the meter in Device Manager (without CalMAN or any other program that can access the meter running), then reboot and let Windows find it and install drivers again.
How old is your version of CalMAN? If it's older than the last version, it probably really doesn't support the Calibrite-branded meters. The meters will have different Device IDs that an older version won't recognize.

You shouldn't have installed that driver - it's not needed even for ArgyllCMS based software since the i1d3 can use the default HID USB driver, and isn't included in the normal ArgyllCMS MSWindows driver install (in fact it's a bit of a mystery how you installed it at all!)
With the instrument plugged in, you should be able to right click on it in Device Manager and select "Uninstall device" on “Eye-one Display 3 (Argyll)".

 

That means it's using the Argyll CMS driver and not the X-Rite one. CalMAN uses only the X-Rite/Windows driver.

 

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking. That’s the driver that is installed when I plug in the Calibrite Sensor. How do I disable and replace the driver with the x-rite one?

 

The only way I found to stop the system from going back to the Argyll drivers was to uninstall them completely through Windows uninstaller. You can, of course, switch back to the X-Rite/Windows drivers manually in Device Manager (update driver>browse my computer for drivers>let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer) when getting ready to start CalMAN if you also use something like HCFR or DisplayCal that needs the Argyll drivers.

The correct Windows driver should be for "Human Interface Device" or HID...

 

Thanks for your help and patience. I downloaded the latest driver pack from Spectracal, CalmanDriverpack_v2.4, but when i point it to any of the drivers in the pack, it says “folder doesn’t contain a compatible device.” I’ve tried every driver. Do I need a specific driver for the “i1Display 3”?

 

I downloaded Calman home for Sony, it’s a trial version and X-rite shows up but it’s red. Is this normal for the trial version?

 

Trial versions of CalMAN cannot access real meters, displays, or pattern generators. Whatever they show attached will be in red.

 

To keep the meter from reloading the Argyll driver, go to Settings>Apps>Apps and Features. Scroll down through the list. There should be a separate entry for Argyll CMS drivers. Choose it, and select uninstall. You may have to reboot the computer.

 

Calman 5.6.1 is over 5 years old. It is not compatible with a meter released in 2021.

UPDATE: I have Calman Home for Sony and everything works for manual calibration. Apparently there is a problem with my Calman 5 Business, that still needs to be resolved, but I can use Calman Home as of now.
