I currently have a benq ht3550 using kodi, but it is very dark in hdr so I want to start using mad vr that I was told will improve the hdr image a lot for its tone mapping.

Now I have to buy a graphics card, I do not know if the gtx 1080 or a 2060 rtx, I do not know what is better gtx or rtx etc, sorry ignorance, I will use it mainly for 4k hdr in movies with kodi, games maybe with the oculus quest 2

I hope you can help me, I think amd is not very good at using madvr, so I hope your help and do not spend the money badly.

I have a ryzen 3 3200g with an asus b450 card

A 2060 will work perfectly fine for local media playback and HDR tone mapping. You’ll be able to use some upscaling but won’t be able to go crazy. Which is honestly fine.

The Ryzen 3200G has a strong enough integrated graphics that it should run MadVR no problem. Just stick with Lanczos rescaling.

However, I don't know if it will do actual HDR output.
