Hi,

I just recently bought and Barco Data 600 projector, with new tubes and a RCVDS Q400.It came converged at 9 feet for 5ft wide image but the blue is out of allignent,I say this because the image looks very nice but theres a blue outline on mani images..I dont know how to converge..:( well not yet at least lol :)

ANY who..my real problem is this, the unit keeps turning off by itself, sometime instantly sometimes after 5 mins the most was 15 mins..I hear "clicking" or Frequency sounds before it powers off, I was told it was because I ran it on the same power line as my tv/pc/sat etc.. so I move it to an EMPTY power slot then I got it on for 15 mins...what could the problem be?

Im using RGB/S cables from RCVDS to CRT, and getting image from SVHS connection from my satellite. Also how can i connect this to my pc?

Thanks!

Could be set up wrong, not sure if that would cause it to shut down, but a proper set up goes along way towards reliablity. I would break out the manual and read up on it and spent some time here researching too.

I didnt want to create a new thread so im asking a new Question here.

Can I adjust my contrast externally? The guy I bought my Barco from says I need a "test pattern" do it internally. He told me to get the Finding Nemo DVD..bcuz it has THX calibration for projectors..

Do i REALLY need a pattern ? my dark scenes are WAAAY to dark and i need to fix it.

Thanks,

im gettin AVIA "Guide to home theater' 5 Cds...650 MBs each..oh well I got DSL now :D heheh

anyway im getting tired and annoyed now...my image isnt too sharp and my blacks are still to black...:( I dont see how a DVD disc can calibrate a projector by itself..I used many calibtration apps today trying to get it calibrated that way...though BNC to RCA and connected to my Radeon SVHS to RCA female...bad image quality but movie are great I can adjust the darkness...but I cant adjust darkness while watching tv :( i tried everything ..adjusting everything on the RCVDS and I even tried adjusting the greyscale etc..

I just would ike to know how software will automatically calibrate everything.

Thanks.

First: illegal downloading of materials isn't sanctioned here at AVS.

Second: Avia does not automatically calibrate ANYTHING. I answered just another such strange assumption on HTF like yesterday. It contains test patterns with very specific characteristics, that YOU USE to calibrate your display.

Third: Downloading some ripped copy of Avia as some 5CD MPeg or something is totally pointless, not to mention a violation as per my #1. The whole POINT of test discs such as Avia, or Video essentials is to allow you to calibrate your DVD playback chain to very specific, and strict standards, such that movies appear correctly on your display, or as correctly as possible given the limitations of your display.

It's like going to the paint store, picking out a color pallatte sheet you want, copying it with a black and white copier, and using the copy to match paint colors. It's stupid.

And a big thumbs down for trying to obtain illegal copies of Avia. Have fun watching boring, and totally useless copies of test patterns....

im not REALLY downloading it...I just wanted to see your reply lol

theres no way im downloading 5 cds of test patterns..no way im buying it either.

Thanks for the info though..the guy who sold me the Barco 600 told me theres no ay I can adjust the contrast..and its internal, He told me to get "finding nemo" DVD because it has THX calibration and will do it for me...

and the copies of AVIA are not illegal not im my view at least because I like to try my stuff before I buy..If its good enough I buy it if not I delete it I dont have money to buy everything I see.

any whos thanks for the info :)
