Hello
I'm new to projectors and receivers and need help with the issue I'm facing. I recently hooked up Epson projector in my basement with Onkyo TX-NR696 receiver. The receiver's set up screen works perfectly fine and I can navigate thru the screen without issues. But I've issues when I change the source to ROKU( plugged in to one of the HDMI ports). The picture signal seems to lose and I get a blank screen. Sometimes the picture blinks and comes back right away. I can hear the audio even when the screen is blank so I'm not sure what the issue is. Did someone face similar issues? Please let me know what I can try. I tried placing the ROKU player in all the HDMI ports available on the receiver and have the same issue.

Thank you
Vinay

I'd recommend going into the Roku Settings -> Display Type -> and try the various 4k options or even Auto Detect. It's possible the Roku is sending video in a format the Onkyo can't handle.

Additionally, try the 'sub' HDMI out as well as the 'Main' HDMI out.

How long is your HDMI cable? I had issues on my TX-NR686 using Roku as source and a relatively long HDMI cable connected to a BenQ EP5920 1080p projector. A new cable did the trick.

Unfortunately Onkyo receivers have a long history of HDMI ********. I had an RC360 and then the replacement RC460 blow their HDMI boards. So far my NR686 has been ok but I'll most likely just get a Denon next time.

Thank you. I removed all the cables and tried one more time and it seems to work OK now. I've HDMI cable that's 50ft long connected to Epson 2250. Replacing the cable would be an expensive option as the wires are run thru the ceilings before finishing the basement.

Hi.
I have a problem with my Onkyo TX-NR696 receiver. From today, the receiver stay in "Headphone" mode. I don't have a Jack headphone pluged in the receiver. I reset te Receiver with Factory Settings and I make the last Bios upgrade. (the problem has started before the reset and before the upgrade. The problem didn't come from thoses actions).
Now, with the "Headphone mode" (the Icon Headphone is visible on the main screen), I didn't have any sound on my Speakers :-(. Could someone give me an advice ? Thanks.
