Hi, I'm new here so sorry if I'm asking in the wrong community.

I'm reusing an old laptop and I'm trying to watch movies with it. As it is a very underpowered computer I've chosen MPC-HC as my video player, as it seems to be very well optimized (VLC lags for me), the problem is that I can't manage to insert the subtitles in the program:

(sorry for spanish)

I've looked in the options panel and apparently everything should work correctly (green ticks):

I don't know if you can help me, but thanks in advance =)

When using madVR renderer, I think you need something like XY-VSFilter for subtitles. See here

You should grab both the 64 and 32 bit versions since you may need one or the other depending on how your directshow chain is built. It may be 64bit or 32bit based on if all the filters are 32 or 64 bit.

Sometimes MPC can use its own filter chain. PotPlayer will be using the system codec chain. So you could get MPCHC to also use that but you'll have to poke around to turn off its internal splitters.
