Subwoofer not working with Y adapter

I have plugged in a RCA audio interconnect cable with a Y adapter from my SVS 1000 to the sub pre out on my Denon AVR1910, however no sound is coming out from the sub. The other speakers work fine.

Do I need to try an RCA without the Y adapter or is this likely a problem with the output from the reciever? The sub is new, turns on and makes noise when you tap the cables so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the sub itself.

If the sub isn't working with music or movies...

1)check the speaker setup menu in the receiver. set all speakers to 80hz(you can tune later) and sub to on/yes

2)be sure you are not using a listening mode on the receiver which disables the sub

3)check the speaker level settings in the receiver, set the bass(usually ranges from -12 to +12) to +6 for now.

Go into the Main Menu, select Speakers/Manual Setup/Speaker Config., and then set the Subwoofer option to "1spkr".

Once you've activated the sub channel you'll need to do a proper calibration, so use the resources here to your advantage to help you achieve the most optimal results.

Good luck, and welcome to the forums!

Use a single RCA out of the AVR and connect to the LFE input on your sub. You don't need a y-connector. Also check the settings on your AVR to ensure you are correctly setting your sub out.

I’ve tried less expensive Sub splitters, and they didn’t work. Audioquest Sub splitter connected to the LFEs worked well for my Marantz AVR system. Hope this helps.

Peace and blessings,
