Subwoofer/s integration with McIntosh Preamp and Power Amplifier and results?

I'm in the process of upgrading my current 1990's 2 channel system to the newest McIntosh C53 preamp and MC462 amplifier. I also recently ordered two new subwoofers that won't be here for a couple of months. I currently have a Denon x6200w AVR that takes care of home theater duties. My intention is to use the subs on both systems.

After doing some initial research, I have come across a few posts on forums where McIntosh users are experiencing difficulties getting good integration and sound with their subs when used with their 2-channel McIntosh systems. Has anyone experienced or experiencing similar issues? Any information you could share as to what's causing this would be greatly appreciated! I'm trying to learn and get ahead of any potential issues before my subs arrive. Thanks!

This is how to do it

IF your pre-amp does not have a processor loop, tape loop or whatever--take the full range output of the pre-amp and plug it into the full range input of an electronic crossover, bass processor or whatever. The subwoofer output or low pass output goes to the subs and the mains output or high pass output goes to the main speaker. Done.

So easy a teenager can do it! So, if you get confused find a kid with a good boom car and they can wire it up for you.

A bit of advice, if I was going to be purchasing a pre-amp, it would have the bass processing built in. At a minimum, I would make sure it allows for external processors to be patched in--at a minimum. So, if you want subwoofers, get equipment that allows for that.

Enjoy and good luck!

Thanks! The C53 does not have a processor/tape loop. I've been told that Output 2 can be used to send this signal to the subs via an unbalanced or balanced output. The PSA subs I'm getting have the ability to accept L(LFE), R, and balanced inputs. Then I could use the subs built-in crossover to adjust.

I'm wondering if I'll have to take the leap into the rabbit hole of REW/miniDSP at some point. Everything I've read about it makes it seem very complicated
