I will "try" to keep this "efficient" First - present components: Sony STR ZA2100ES AVR, Sony 55X850B TV, Integra DPC-8.5 (Plays SACDs), Sony UBP-X800 Blu Ray Player.

There is a potential "wish list" item - a Sony Bravia 7 TV. Here's the problem. Right now, there is a triple RCA cable plugged into the rear of the TV from the Integra player. Red, Green, Blue. The Red and White (Right and Left) audio channels are plugged into the AVR. In order for the SACDs to play properly, apparently it is necessary to have the triple cable plugged into the Component In jacks on the back of the TV. I "never" use the Integra to watch videos and was strongly advised against even trying it by the Best Buy installers who hooked up my equipment. I use the Integra exclusively to listen to CDs and SACDs. I am trying to research the "Component to HDMI" converters. The ones with the red, blue and green connections also have a Left and Right Audio connection, which I would not want to use as the audio channel is connected to the AVR. Who, if anyone, makes a converter that would allow the three cable connection to the TV? I have had the Integra repaired once since I bought it, and the price of a player that handles SACDs is expensive. Of course, the easy way out is just to keep what I have and give up on a TV upgrade. My present TV plays 3D discs, and it would be hard to part with that, but it does not have HDR or Dolby Vision, etc. Sony issued a firmware upgrade so the AVR outputs Dolby Atmos and DTS Master Audio - just wonderful. My speakers are "legacy" Definitive Technology speakers, but I can say for my humble abode, the sound is stunning. I would not want to lose the ability to enjoy multi-channel SACDs. So, there you have it. I hope this makes sense. Have done so much online research . . . Thanks for listening.

Pursuant to the AI Overview on this matter, it says: "You will not be able to use the player's coaxial or optical digital outputs for SACD playback, as they typically carry only CD or DVD-Audio signals, not the DSD signal from the SACD". Furthermore, there are no "Multi Channel" jacks on the STR ZA2100ES to match the Analog RCA "Out" Jacks on the DPC-8.5. Also, I cannot find an HDMI port on the DPC-8.5 My unit is on a very heavy cabinet close to the wall, and I have to use a mirror or twist myself into a pretzel to see how everything is connected. This was a custom install, so I do not know what to say. I can tell you there is only sound from an SACD when the sound is set for "Dolby Surround" or "Multi-Channel Stereo". I am still doing copious amounts of internet research.

I am also aware that the STR ZA2100ES has an HDMI 2.0 limitation, but I am not a "gamer" so the HDMI 2.1 is probably not a critical issue if I would end up switching out the TV. It's the SACD play capability that concerns me the most. Thanks for responding.

If you weren't connected to an AVR using the SACD's multichannel analog outputs, you've never were listening as DSD.
AFAIK, there are no "Analog Multichannel" to HDMI converters.

One more tidbit. My Sony UBP-X800 plays SACDs with DSD Multi 2.8MHz/1 bit. I had to alter some of the audio settings on the player, but guess what - it works. So, if I really want to listen to a SACD, I can do so, one disc at a time. Enjoying 1812 Overture at the moment.

I am really torn about getting a new TV. I really enjoy my Bravia 55X850B with the 3D capability. Great picture, etc.

Thank you for your timely responses. I think I can close this thread, as I have figured out that it is impossible to access the DSD signal with the gear I presently own. I disconnected the Component Video cable from the TV and Integra player. Still enjoying my music. It's not like I have an extensive SACD library, and most music is being released in straight CD format. So, on that topic, I guess that's it. I notice that the Sony Bravia 7 65-inch TV is on sale for $500 off as of today. Need to do a little more research on the HDMI 2.0 issue. I have Cinnamon HDMI cables which are good for HDMI 2.0. Anyway, there is still some time to contemplate this matter. I was thinking of waiting for Black Friday . . . I do not have a huge library of 3D movies, but I really have enjoyed the ones I have. For me, this is a tough choice. Thank you again for your responses.
