I have a 49tx, the audio has basically just stopped working. All of the video inputs still work and no matter what source I chose the video is displayed fine. The problem is I have no audio at all from any sources. There are no warnings or error messages. The display looks perfectly normal and is still recognizing whether it is receiving a digital or analog signal. I tried going through input selections and making sure multi-zone is off and speaker "A" is selected (basically all of the troubleshooting from the manual).

When it first happened yesterday I was able to cycle through the input selector "analog/digital/auto" and it came back on briefly. Now it is back to not working.

I also tried unplugging the unit and letting it sit overnight and that did not work.

Anybody have any idea of what could be wrong. As far as I know there was no incident to cause anything to fail.

Have you tried a factory reset?

Page 92 of your manual :

1 From the Standby mode, and while

holding down the DIGITAL NR

button press the STANDBY/ON

button for about three seconds.

2 When you see RESET? appear in the

display, press the TONE - button.

OK? appears in the display, press

TONE +.
All the settings, including the speaker, surround

sound settings and tuner settings will be reset to

the default settings.

Good luck

I actually did not. I stopped home for a second and before seeing this I cycled through the "MultiCH Input (DVD-A SACD)" and it wound up coming back on.

Question, could a Blu-Ray movie cause the receiver to make some sort of change on its own. My son told me that the two times this happened he was trying to watch "The House Bunny" on BluRay. All other Blu-Ray movies have played fine through my PS3 for well over a year.

I am experiencing the exact same audio problem. I'd prefer not to reset the unit as I am a novice and was not the one who set up my receiver. I fear once I reset it I will have not know how to set it up again. Kind of weak on my part, Iknow.

Nevertheless, any other suggestions before resetting?
