Possible way to network WD HD Media Player?

Apologies if this has been asked but if someone were to connect a special NAS (the kind that allows the NAS to be connected as an external USB device) wouldn't that in essence network the WD HD Media Player?

There are NAS' that allow access to the files via USB and so i thought this would be one way of getting around the non-networked feature of the media player. I am getting soooooooooooooo tired of disconnecting attached USB devices from the media player.

You aren't able to connect to the media player, but who cares? What we are really wanting is the ability to add/remove content.

thoughts?

There are a lot of threads about doing this, if you are Linux friendly it is fairly easy. Look for the WDTV firmware thread.
