Hi all -- I have a TRC-1080 remote. My ht installer says that I cannot program it myself, I must call them to make any changes. Is there a way around this? Any DIY option?

No, that remote is in the Total Control line and only authorized folks have access to the software. Look in the Complete Control line and see if there is a model you like. If so, buy from a dealer that will give you a copy of the software.

 

And there's no IR on that remote, its WIFI only remote that can only communicate with the MRX Advanced Network System Controller.

 

I already have the remote and the controller. It's all working fine. I just would prefer not to have to schedule my installer to come to the house everytime i want to change a component or make a tweak.
