SHARP AQUOS XLED:
65" XLED 4TC65FV1U = $2,499.00
75" XLED 4TC75FV1U = $2,999.00
For $2,499.00 I want HDR10+ support along with DV. I refuse to pay a premium and still have to suffer from a format war.

My main issue is with only having 2 HDMI 2.1 ports... I know it isn't entirely their fault as they are relying on MediaTek like just about everyone else (except Samsung's highest end sets which I believe use their own custom HDMI chipset). But really I am surprised that some of the TV makers haven't tried to just take the MediaTek 2000 (the 8k chip) and used it in their flagship 4k systems (from my understanding, the 8k chip does have 4 hdmi 2.1 ports), and just told it the output resolution is 4k and not 8k (since the resolution of the chip is adjustable from what I understand with a max of 8k).

You think it's a war?

HDR 10+ vs Dolby Vision is like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

If this TV ends up being good, I wonder where it'll be available of purchase. I'm surprised we haven't seen a placeholder or anything at any of the major retailers.

I‘m hearing that it may only be available at Value Electronic this year.
I doubt that.
He might get them 1st initially though.

What's the deal with Value Electronics? I have never heard of them before looking into these new Sharp TVs. Why did Sharp choose this place and not something more well known like Best Buy. Does anyone have experience with Value Electronics?

Lots of high end TV buyers know Value Electronics. I bought my Z9K there and dealt directly with Robert through email.
Responded quickly to every question and we worked out a deal on my 75.
Most people are happy with them and lots of high end brands use them as they ship all over the USA. I wasn't charged for shipping but it is a very expensive set.
There are other good shops that are on here directly as members but not sure anyone else can get the Sharp yet besides them.

Uniformity looks excellent (no dark corners or edges). There was some blooming around OSD elements, but it's hard to tell if that's due to off-axis viewing. I wish we had a real technical review rather than regurgitation of marketing bullet points. Supposedly Stop the FOMO is going to do one.

VE doesn't have them in stock yet. I asked for confirmation regarding the calibration capabilities (20pt white balance, etc.), but I don't think even VE knows what this display truly offers yet besides what they've seen at trade shows. I'd probably be willing to gamble on a 75" if I knew I could at least have a shot at calibrating it. Other companies have been refining their user menus for years and I'm concerned we're going to get a vanilla Android experience with poor calibration options.

Shame about the aesthetics too. The stand makes it look like an old PC monitor.

Sounds like a advertisement.
I would like a actual in depth review.

I bought my 2 most recent TVs from Value Electronics. Robert and Wendy are class acts.
