2022 Receiver Outlook, Worth the Wait?

I recently bought my first TV with HDMI 2.1, planning to use it with my GPU to do 4k@120hz. I also like to watch movies on it, it's currently hooked up to an old receiver that I'm looking to replace.

I was hoping to get a new release, but it looks like there weren't many releases in 2021. The only receiver I saw that was released this year that would suit my use cases is the AVR-X1700H. I don't want to get any of the 2020 models that had the HDMI 2.1 bug, and I'm trying to stay between Denon and Marantz.

The TV will be connected to the receiver through eARC, and the receiver will be connected to my GPU. This way, I have the choice of either my TV using the speakers or my desktop.

Are there any notable releases planned for early 2022 that I should consider waiting for?

If there are any 2022 Denon/Marantz releases, not likely to occur until end of summer 2022 or possibly even delayed to early 2023.

Out of interest, how many HDMI 2.1 ports does your TV have?

Mine has 4, so I plug everything directly in to that with just HDMI with eARC going back from the TV to the AVR for audio.

That opened up a world of non-HDMI 2.1 receivers (as long as they support eARC) and saved me some money in the process. Just a thought.

I have the QN90A, it only has one HDMI 2.1 port, and the eARC port is not the HDMI 2.1 port. Currently I plan to just do 2k@144hz, but when I get a new GPU with HDMI 2.1, I think I'm going to have to run two HDMIs, one to the TVs eARC for audio (from the HDMI OUT), and one to the HDMI 2.1 port on the TV from one of the HDMI 2.1 IN ports on the receiver. I know it sounds wonky. I tested this scenario with my current receiver to make sure it's possible, and it worked (current receiver can only pass 1080p@60hz,4k@60hz).
HDMI 2.1 is necessary for 4k@120hz. HDMI 2.0b doesn't support 4k@120hz passthrough

I'm waiting for new processors...hopefully there are a lot of options around 5k with HDMI 2.1
